Uptill now, i had only wished of playing Team Fortress 2 on international server, as i did not have the luxury of buying the game and playing it on International servers. One of the reasons is the intervention of Steam, which at times, i find to be a real pain for gamers 
So Following is a guide to run Team Fortress 2 on Regular servers, without any problems, AND have all the unlocks available ! And it is also compatible with steam 
- Step1: Download Non-Steam Tf2 Game from This Link: Team Fortress 2 (Torrent File Link at Mininova)
This Link lets you download TF2 version v1.0.2.3 via torrents. (2.3 GB)
- Step 2: Download TF2 Comprehensive Update to V1.0.3.4 from Mininova (333.2 MB Torrent)
This updates the version upto 1.0.3.4
- Step 3: Download Subsequent Updates and from KSO.Lv (Each patch is around 8~9 MB)
At the time of writing this post, the latest patch was 1.0.3.7
- Step 5: Get Steam from here, and then create a (free) account over at Steam.
METHOD:
Now simply, Extract the Downloaded Steam Game fro Step1, Run the patches in order to update.
Run Steam, Log in, and Run Team Fortress 2 Thats it

I’ve downloaded all of the patches, but when I try to connect to non - KSO server, it says This Account Does not have this game installed. Please login on the correct Steam Account. Help pls?

Thats becuz u dont have that game downloaded from steam…
Its a nonsteam version…
Just update to the latest pathces and u dont need any steam or shit.
And to you who u posted this guide…
Tell me exactly where u extracted the game?
Into the steamapps/youraccountname?

For steam to detect it, yes. However, i use xfire mostly, and for steam games to be detected for xfire, i use steamfire. And there are registry edits for steam to detect games aswell, If u want i cud post a tut here with links for steam fire etc.

As long as you download the Non-Steam version, all is fine. The non-steam version i know requires quite a few updates to get to the latest version of tf2, so we need the patches, or u wont be able to play on any international servers.
Ill try to search for other non-steam versions aswell
and update.

well, infact im downloading the last three updates myself now (1.0.3.7
1.0.4.0) so ill tell u if they work or not aftertesting. Tho i downloaded my copy via the method above and have been playing tf2 for some time now

if it lags then switch server. if u system cannot handle the gfx at all then upgrade ur pc (or delete teh game as u did :P)

Non Steam servers are absolutely fine, however steam servers can be a bit of a problem, coz if they detect some fishy stuff, u know… however i do remember playing on steam serversa few times. In any case, there are a lot of non-steam servers out there to play anyway

Ok sorry if i annoy you here again but everything went well till i wanted to join a game.
I typed in connect ……….. and then that comes:
Your map [maps/ctf_2fort.bsp] differs from the server’s.
Not only at 2Fort maps,i have the same problem at all other maps so i cant join a single game!

I downloaded it and it was a big disappointment…
